Charles A. Blair, 79, who formerly resided at 1127 E. Waid, died Sunday at Chateau Care Center. A lifelong Muncie resident, he retired from Indiana Steel & Wire in 1977.
He was a member of Shaffer Chapel AME Church, where he had been active in the choir and the Laymen's Chorus, and the Whiteley Neighborhood Association.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn M. Blair, Muncie; two stepsons, James E. Smallins, Milwaukee, and Charles T. Smallins, Atlanta; five sisters, all of Muncie, Mary Alyce Clemens, Margaret Jean Burkes, Sarah Ann Powell, Beverly Sue Sims and Juanita West; and two brothers, both of Muncie, William Blair and John Blair.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory. Calling is one hour prior to the services. Faulkner Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
