Gordon was born on September 14, 1949, in Pulaski County, son of the late Robert Terril and Bertha Aline Buster Ard. He moved to Florida where he worked for several years. Gordon was former office assistant for Tropicana Products Corporation in Tampa, Florida. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bradenton, Florida. Gordon loved collecting leaves and he loved animals, especially his dog, "Tippy".
He is survived by one sister, Beverly Diana Merz, of Florida; a half-brother, John T. Ard, of Kentucky; his home provider, Susie, and his house-mate friends.
On Monday, October 19, 2020, there will be a visitation from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., in the chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company and Crematory. Gordon wished to be cremated and that there would be no funeral services. Interment will be in the Somerset City Cemetery, in the family plot.
