Julia Antrim Snyder Laylon, 82, of Bel Air, MD, passed away on January 21, 2015 at Hart Heritage in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Miami County, Peru, Indiana, she is the daughter of the late Adm Richard Nott and Mary Jean Packard Antrim. Being an Admiral's daughter, she traveled and lived in many areas of the globe, including China, Manila, Hong Kong, Lakehurst, NJ where she saw the Hindenburg explode, and Rhode Island. A teacher, she completed her Master's in education. She taught for 26 years at Old Post Elementary School in Edgewood and previously was the first Kindergarten teacher at Forest Hill Elementary. She loved collecting stamps, Genealogy, reading, poetry and playing the piano. After retirement, Judy and Len traveled to Europe 3 times, many Caribbean Islands, Nova Scotia, and most US States. Mrs. Laylon is survived by her husband, Leonard LaRue Laylon of Bel Air; sons, Robert John Snyder and wife, R. Lynn Snyder, of Bel Air and William R. Snyder and wife, Julie Potter Snyder of Bel Air; daughters, Sandy Lee Grammer and husband, Terry, of Memphis, TN, Annette Louise Berk and husband, William of Joppa, MD and Stephanie Lynn McLean of Clarksville, TN; sisters, Nancy Walker of West Chester, PA and Caitlin Antrim of Virginia; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
