Harry James Haas, Sr., 62, operator of the Haas service station on Eastern Avenue, died Thursday [Dec. 16, 1948] at his residence. He had been in impaired health for eight years.

Born in Ross County on June 12, 1886, the son of Frederick and Thresia Rudman Haas, he married Bessie Gae Smith on Oct. 19, 1913.

He was a member of the Church of Christ on South Hickory Street.

The wife survives, together with a son, Harry Jr.; a daughter, Miss Virginia Gae Haas; two brothers, A. F. Haas, Bainbridge, and Frank A. Haas; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Hammond and Mrs. Stella Wackman; and two grandchildren.

The Rev. R. B. Riffle will officiate at the service to be held at 2 p.m. Sunday from the Ware Funeral Home, with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Friday.
