Lucy Elizabeth McGuire Abels, 94, a Housewife, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, September 20, 2007, after a short illness at Attala County Nursing Center in Kosciusko. Visitation is today from 9-10 a.m. at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. today in Kosciusko with burial in the Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko. Jordan Funeral Home (662) 289-5521 in Kosciusko, MS is handling the arrangements.
Elizabeth McGuire Abels, was born May 11, 1913 in Attala County, Mississippi. She was a long time and faithful member of Pleasant Ridge Primitive Baptist Church of Ethel, Mississippi.
Elizabeth is survived by a son, G. C. McGuire and daughter-in-law, Betty McGuire of Kosciusko; her grandchildren, Robert McGuire, Sr., of Kosciusko and Tennie Elizabeth McGuire of Evans, GA; three great grandchildren, Derek McGuire of Montgomery, AL, Robin McGuire of Philadelphia, PA, and Robert McGuire, Jr., of Kosciusko; six nieces, Ann Mann of Centreville, Jean Carter of Brandon, Frances McCellan of Centreville, Dean Toombs and Carrie Nell Toombs of Pickens and Maggie Dee McCorkle of Vaiden; four nephews, Marshall Abels of Aransas Pass, TX, Joe Frank Abels of Columbus, John Abels of Pickens and George Abels of Pickens.
