d/o Norman and Anna (Lyons) Leeming.

Born and raised in Newark, Muriel trained as a teacher at Montclair Normal School (now Montclair State University). She graduated with a BA in 1945 and taught social studies in the Irvington school district for several years. Subsequently, she opted to stay at home after marrying Bob Haag in 1950. She and Bob were unable to have children.

Their first married home was in Verona, but eventually they moved to North Caldwell, where they lived for most of Bob's career. They retired to Blairstown, NJ, in 1986. After Bob's death in 2010, Muriel moved to an assisted living facility in Pocatello, Idaho, to be near her niece, Catherine (daughter of her sister, Luella). Despite Alzheimer's Disease, Muriel was a lively resident of Brookdale, Pocatello, frequently playing the piano and taking part in other activities.

Muriel survived the COVID epidemic and passed away peacefully from old age in Pocatello.
