There is a question about where he was actually buried. I have attached a copy of his death certificate to the photos. The second line from the bottom, it notes the place of burial was in the Highland Cemetery in Williamsburg, Kentucky. Also, I, Robert Allen Winter, his grandson, personally visited his grave next to his first wife Belle Nicholson in 1991 in Highland Cemetary, Williamsburg, Ky.
At one time, it was thought he may have been buried in Vallonia, Indiana as he moved his family there before he passed away. l.
I believe he bought a gravesite for he and his first wife when she died in 1914. That is the one I visited and saw his name inscribed next to hers. I didn’t take a photo way back then but have requested one. His name and date of death were inscribed on the joint headstone when he passed away in 1949.

Also, Paul Ellison, his oldest, who took care of handing the documentation and his remains, also lived in Vallonia, Indiana.
Apparently, Paul honored his fathers wishes and buried his father next to his first wife with whom he had 8 children.
Maybe that is why my grandmother, Ida Francis (nee Sutton) Ellison, Ike’s second wife, who married WW Longworth after Ike died, had Ida F. Longworth on her gravestone. She was buried in Vallonia Cemetery, the same cemetery as her second husband, WW Longworth.

I know from talking with my mom, Dessie Ellison Winter, that “Pappy” Longworth and Ida were very happy together for the last few years he lived.

On the death certificate, the date of birth has 1872. I just confirmed from handwritten genealogy records my mom Dessie Ellison Winter left me and it shows July 31, 1871 as Ike's date of birth.
Possibly his son Paul did not know the specific date when he gave the information to the hospital or funeral director back in 1949.

My father was 13 years of age when grand father came to the county. Grand father settled, lived and died in Whitley Co. Now called the John Ellison bent of clear fork of circle land River. Grand father was married the second time to a Pennington, my grand mother’s name before marriage.

He had 10 children by his second wife. Her name before marriage was Manning a daughter of William Manning his mother was a Morgan before marriage. Names of father 10 last children 1. Nancy who married M.E. Wyatt, 2 Olive who married WB Davis, 3rd Emaline who married Jackson Skeen first he died and she married Joseph Guinn 4th Rebecca whom married J.L. My grand father and grand mother on my mothers side came from Ala to this county My father had a sister lived and died in Lincoln Co Ky and a brother lived and died in Ala and he had one sister living in Indiana who married a Cook one living in Mo. John Ellison has half brother lives in the bent in Whitley Co Ky Sampeon Standfill who lives Elk fork married my fathers half sister she is dead her name was Rachel my father had brother James and Joseph I know nothing of the rest of his brs & sisters or he never told me of them that I remember These are some of the same family of Ellisons settled & living in Madison Ky My Brother James Ellison lives in Arkansas his son Simon Ellison lives in Mo in 9 miles of Springfield. My mother had one sister by the name of Olive n he married Andrew Patrick and one brother married (illegible) who is dead one brother named Henry.
