(Lot #24-sublot C) Elnathan & Jesse opened their home as a tavern in 1816, that would later be used as a schoolhouse.(School district #4 on Ray Road/School Road) Some years later,Jan 24, 1839 Elnathan purchased sublot C from Jesse and would build another house near the corner of now New Walden Ave. and Harlem Road, which, too, would be open as a tavern and where the Bennet family would continue to live until 1954.
