Served four years in the US Army during WWII, in England, North Africa and Italy, attaining rank of master sergeant. Retired accountant; longest-serving member of the Chattanooga Rotary Club, volunteer with the Senior Neighbors portable meals program; volunteer with United Way. Preceded in death by parents: Herbert I. and Corinne Kirkpatrick Anderson, and older brother, Will Stewart Anderson. A younger brother, Lee Anderson, Associate Publisher and Editor of the Chattanooga Free Press, survives him. Burial at the Anderson family plot.
