Matilda was born in Baltimore Maryland to James Christopher and Elizabeth Bond. She married in Baltimore at age 17 to Aquilla Jarvis. The majority of their children were born there, with the exception of the last two, Ashael and Ellen, who were born in Ohio.
Matilda accompanied her large family out to Zanesville OH in 1839. She presumably lived there until her death in 1874 at the age of 70. I can find no burial record for her, but her death records seem to indicate that she returned to Zanesville after a trip to Baltimore, then died shortly thereafter. Her final resting place is assumed to be in Zanesville.
