June Rhoades was born December 21, 1942, in Howard County to Mamie and Audice Metcalf. She married Bill Rhoades, September 5, 1963, in Big Spring. She lived most of her life in Big Spring moving to Temple eight years ago. She was a homemaker, but had also worked a number of years at Hall-Bennett Memorial Hospital. She was by nature a care giver. She was a member of Philadelphia Primitive Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband: Bill Rhoades of Temple; one daughter: Lawana Stevens and her husband Jay of Moffat; one grandson: Montana Stevens of Moffat; one step grandson: Joseph Stevens of Temple; one brother: Bill Metcalf and his wife Charlene of Moffat; two half sisters: LaPearl Papps of Tulsa Oklahoma and Lillian Parker of Longview; a number of nieces and nephews; and a number of great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Jesse "Tuff" Metcalf and Carl "Toby" Metcalf; one sister: LaVerne Bragg; and one half brother: Jerry Metcalf.

Graveside services were August 28th at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Randy Cotton, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Roy Lee Metcalf, John Wayne Metcalf, Jesse Metcalf, Bill Wayne Metcalf, Freddy Metcalf, Toby Metcalf, and Michael Self.
