Mrs. Adella Ticknor Dies At Versailles.
Funeral Of Former Dunkirk Resident And Mother Of Mrs. Daniel A. Reed Monday.
Mrs. Adella Delight Ball Ticknor of Dunkirk died Friday afternoon at her home in Versailles, after a long illness. The funeral will be held Monday at 3 p.m. standard time, and burial will be in the Versailles cemetery.
Mrs. Ticknor was born in the town of Perrysburg Oct. 28, 1855, her parents being pioneer residents of Cattaraugus county. She lived in Dunkirk 55 years, residing at 787 Central avenue before returning to the family home at Versailles where she lived 70 years ago. Mr. Ticknor retired five years ago from long service as a conductor on the Erie railroad and his death and that of their son Clifford occured in 1931...Mrs. Ticknor is survived by a daughter, Georgia Ticknor Reed, wife of Representative Daniel A. Reed of Dunkirk, three grandchildren, William T. Reed of Washington, D.C., Miss Ruth Reed of Dunkirk, Miss Jane Ticknor of Glen Ridge, N.J., a great-granddaughter, Willa Alden Reed of Washington, D.C., a sister, Mrs. Fred Palmer, and a brother, Wright Ball, of Versailles.
