Miss Hattie Burkhead
Miss Hattie Burkhead, daughter of Joshua N. and Susannah Johnson Burkhead was born Feb.25, 1868 in Decatur, Indiana, and died March 21 in the Sugar Valley Home , Mound City at the age of 95.
She came to a farm in the Wesley Chapel Community in 1878. She continued to live with her parents and cared for them until their deaths. She moved into Mound City where she made her home for the next ten years. She entered the nursing home in 1959.
Survivors are one brother, Noah J. Burkhead, Kansas City. Nieces and nephews.
Services were held March 24th in Wesley Chapel Methodist Church.
with Rev. J. A. Doane officiating. Vocal music was by Orval Hennesyand Fran Kinney accompanied by Mrs. Harrison Underhill. Pallbears were Dale, Clifton D. and Paul----

Last Rites for Miss Hattie Burkhead, 95, who died March 20 at the Sugar Valley Home in Mound City, were held March 24, at the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church with the Rev. J. A. Doane officiating.
Vocal music was furnished by Orval Henesey and Frank Kinney, with Mrs. Harrison Underhill accompanying.
Pallbearers were Dale, Clifton, and Paul Burkhead, John Barnes, Lorimer Cox, and Raymond Bartlett. Interment was in nearby Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
Fairchild Funeral Home in Mound City was in charge of the services.
