The Morning Star and Highfill communities were shocked and saddened by the
sudden passing of Mrs. Albert Merse Tuesday morning.
Funeral services were conducted by Reverend R. S. Hayden of Bentonville, assisted
by Reverend White, also of Bentonville, at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the home in
Morning Star. As per her own request she was laid to rest beside her father in the
Highfill Cemetery.
Sarah Monday was born in Fayetteville, Tennessee on October 11, 1895 and departed
this life at 1 a.m. on November 10, 1931, just eighteen years from the date of her
mother's death.
A member if the Methodist Church since early childhood, she was always a faithful
worker and shining example of a helpful and happy Christian life.
She was married to Albert Mearse September 26, 1919.
She is survived by her husband and three children, Marcella, Janice and Gertie Jo;
three sisters, Miss. Minnie Monday of Bentonville, Mrs. J. O. Bryant of Highfill and
Mrs. J. C. Lovell of Vivian, Louisiana; three brothers, J. W. Monday and Jim Monday
of Vivian, Louisiana and W. R. Monday of Ventura, California.
