HARRY W. NEHR IS BURIED AT EARVILLE

Died At His Home In This City, Cigarmaker By Trade, Elks In Charge Of Last Services At Grave.

Mr. Harry W. Nehr, who passed away at his home in this city on Wednesday Evening, March 3rd, at 9:15 o'clock, had made his home in this city for the past eleven years. He had made many friends here who with his bereaved widow mourn his passing.
The deceased was born in Lancaster, Pa. on August 2nd, 1864. He was the son of Henry and Elizabeth Nehr. He grew to manhood in that state and came west settling at Earlville where he was united in marriage to Miss Laura Frank in 1904. They spent several years at Farmington, Illinois, coming to Mendota eleven years ago where they have since resided.
Mr. Nehr followed the occupation of a cigar maker and worked for other manufacturers in this city. A few years ago he opened a factory of his own. He was a man of quiet disposition, and made many friends. He belonged to Mendota Lodge No. 1212, B. P. O. Elks where he took great pleasure in visiting the Club House and mingling with the other members of this order.
Mr. Nehr has been ailing for some time. A few months ago he submitted to an operation which was thought would prove beneficial. At first he seemed to improve and was even about town, although he complained of ill health but hoped to gain strength. His condition failed and for a number of weeks he suffered at his home. Neighbors and friends visited him and everything was done for his improvement but death stepped in on Wednesday to relieve him.
He is survived by his wife, two brothers, William and George, of Lancaster, Pa., and two sisters, Mrs. Berda Hatton, of Philadelphia, and Mrs. Margaret Schugar, of Lebanon, Pa.
The funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon from the late home with the Rev. A. W. Engelbrecht, pastor of St. John's Lutheran church in charge. The members of Mendota Lodge No. 1212 attended in a body and held their services at the grave in Precinct cemetery at Earlville, where the body was interred. Miss Leona Burg sang a solo entitled "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and was accompanied by Mrs. Ed Moore on the piano.
Those from out of town who were in attendance were J. D. Frank and wife, Emil Schwanz, Fred Schwanz and wife. Frank Cooper and wife, Mrs. Oscar Frank, Mrs. Ira Frank and son, of Aurora; Mrs. Chas. Frank of Plano; Mr. Dexter Lossee of Sandwich; Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Cruise and family and Miss Irma Miller of Earlville, Mr. Owen Kelley and wife of Farmington, Ill., and Mrs. B. J. Ritson, of Peoria.
