Services for Dr. Lucy Rose Adams, formerly of Columbia, will be held 11:00 a.m. Today at Bethel AME Church, with burial in Palmetto Cemetery. Palmer Memorial Chapel is in charge.

Dr. Adams died Saturday, February 24, 2007. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Eugene and Charity Nash Adams. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Morris Brown College; Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy from Ohio State University. She taught at Morris Brown College Arkansas A&M University, Chaired the Business Departments at Florida A&M University, Tallahassee, FL and St. Augustine College, Raleigh, NC from which she retired. She was a member of Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Sorority; Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, NAACP and was a member of St. Paul AME Church, Raleigh, NC.

Surviving are: brothers, E. Avery (Gloria T.) Adams, Jr. and Bishop John (Dolly D.) H. Adams; nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
