Marguerite Jane (Isenga) Battjes, age 84, of Jenison passed away Sunday, November 7, 1999. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Percy Gibbs and Geert Battjes. She was born in Ottawa County on October 28, 1915, a daughter of Tess and Celia (Rillema) Isenga.
Surviving are her four sons, Danford (Wanda) Gibbs, Thomas (Cheryl) Gibbs, Gord (Sue) Gibbs, and Gary (Janice) Gibbs; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Betty (Bill) VerStrat; step-sons, John Battjes and Rober (Marilyn) Batjes; brothers Paul (Ruth) Isega, Harry (Margie) Isenga; special nieces, Carol Cook, Donna Aukeman and Joyce Carle.
The family will receive family and relatives and friends Tuesday from 2-4 and 4-7 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home Grandville (west building), 4235 Prairie Street, SW. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Cook Memorial Chapel (east building) with Rev. Stuart Blauw officiating. Interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
