Claude Eugene Felts was born on September 2, 1927 in Nashville, Tennessee, the son of Mack Dennis Felts (1894–1943) and Beulah Effice (Floyd) Felts (1893–1931).
He was married on November 24, 1949 as the 1st husband of Dorothy Wilean (Patterson) (Felts) Stewart (1931-2009), the daughter of Tollie Woodson Patterson (1905–2001) and Vera (Cox) Patterson (1909–2001), and a twin of Bettie Jean Patterson (1931–1932).
A member of Two Rivers Baptist Church, Claude had been employed at GENESCO for 32 years and was retired from Estes Express.
He was 72 years old and married when he passed away suddenly in Dallas, Texas on June 26, 2000.
Survivors included his wife, three married daughters, a Rawlston brother-in-law, three sisters and five grandchildren.
