Dora was born on February 22, 1921 to Herbert and Birdie (Barkley) Arnold in Chillicothe, IA, Wapello County. She went to Blakesburg Schools.
She married Joseph Jay Walker on March 26, 1941. They were blessed with three children: Robert, Birdie, and Ronald.
She spent most of her life helping Joe on the family farm. She also worked at St Joseph Hospital and Ottumwa Hospital in Ottumwa, IA until she retired in May 1983.
She enjoyed going with Joe when he drove the school bus for activities. She was a great cook especially her melt in your mouth sugar cookies and pot roast.
She was a loving and caring mom, grandma, great grandma and great, great grandma. She was a friend to everyone she met.
She enjoyed playing Bingo and helping the other residents at Valley View Village with anything they needed. She spent many hours playing cards and games with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Joe, son Ronald, son in law Lyle Stocker, and daughter in law Dora Walker.
Memorial service will be at Hamilton's Funeral Home Lyon St on Thursday, October 29th at 11:00. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Graveside service will be at Shaul Cemetery in Ottumwa, IA following the service.
