Emily Callahan Rybak, 85, of Syracuse , died Sunday at home. Born in Syracuse , she attended Delaware School and Vocational High School. Emily lived in Camillus for more than 60 years before returning to the Syracuse area. She was a former communicant of St. Joseph's Church. She was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed reading mystery books, antiques and lunch in Skaneateles.
Emily was a loving grandmother to Colin.
Her husband, Frank Rybak, died in 2004 and son, Lt. Francis P. Rybak, died in 1968.
Surviving are her daughter, Stephanie (Michael MacDonald) Rybak of Syracuse ; grandson, Colin; Edward and Barbara Rybak, Helen and Al Myrdek; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Church, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 West Genesee Street, Camillus. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Syracuse .
