Lindsey, 8 years old, was born July 13, 1995, in Independence, and at the time of her death was in the third grade at Fairmount Elementary School. She enjoyed being the center of attention dancing and singing, golf was a big part of her life, she did all sports, but she loved that one the most. Lindsey loved taking care of people and animals, like Bossie.

Bossie, the family Bulldog, was just like another member of family, and very protective them. Bossie would walk Lindsey and her brother, Sam, to school, of course with their dad. Lindsey was the sister of Sam Porter (Find A Grave Memorial# 21781668).

Lindsey is survived by her loving and caring mother, Tina (Lindsey) Porter of Independence; father, Daniel W. Porter of Cameron, Mo.; grandparents, Rosemary Lindsey of Albuquerque, N.M., Sam Porter of Lakeland, Fla., and Marilyn Emmert of Harrison, Ark.; and 17 aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at the Noland Road Baptist Church, Independence. Private interment will follow in Lobb Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, Independence, 816-373-3600. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Sam & Lindsey Support Center, 1425 S.
