She loved embroidery and was a board member of the Embroidery Guild of America. Upon moving to Hendersonville she was instrumental in founding the Laurel Chapter of the Embroidery Guild of America.
Surviving is her husband of 59 years, Guy Alley; three children Barbara Manon Martinez of Savannah, GA, Cynthia A. Pifke and husband Robert of St. Louis, and Guy Houston Alley, Jr. and wife June of Tyler, Texas; and one grandson Paul Martinez of Nashville, Tennessee.
Private family services will be held in Birmingham, Alabama.
