Mrs. Shoup was a member of Middletown Christian Church and the Oldham County Country Club and a very active member of Middletown VFW Post #1170 Ladies Auxiliary. She was also an avid golfer and a homemaker. Prior to her marriage, she had worked for the Navy department in Washington, DC. On September 1, 1946, she was married to John R. Shoup, who preceded her in death on September 19, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Evelyn Losey. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Bill Powers of Ashland; one son and daughter- in-law, Dr. J. Wesley and Barbara (Allen) Shoup of Virginia Beach, VA; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Richard Kaser of Oklahoma City, OK. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 5, 2004, at Denbow-Primm-Kemery Funeral Home, 313 Center St., Ashland, with Pastor Wayne Mullet officiating. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
