He was born Jan. 7, 1979, in Garden City, to Richard Wayne Sr. and Cynthia Denise McCaslin Moody. He grew up in Garden City and attended Garden City schools.
After his marriage, Mr. Moody moved to Tacoma, Wash. While there, he worked in commercial and residential construction as a painter, welder, mechanic and framer. After his illness, he moved to Colorado Springs to be closer to treatment. He was a member of Second Baptist Church of Garden City, and enjoyed art, drawing, bike riding, and being with family and friends.
Survivors include four children, Brittany Renee Wynless of Colorado Springs, Luciana Janae Moody-Venturi of Garden City, and Keiana Love Moody and Ebony Starlett Moody, both of Tacoma; his mother, of Colorado Springs; his father, of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Michael Moody of Garden City; and his grandmother, Margaret Gaffney of Garden City.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Second Baptist Church, Garden City, officiated by the Rev. L. Owens Jr.
