CONNERSVILLE, Ind.--Madeline Brown, 79, 1033 E. Fifth St., died Friday, Sept. 5, 1997, at Fayette Memorial Hospital, where she was admitted earlier that day.
She was born March 30, 1918, in Williamstown, Ky., to Pete and Winnie Yelton Rowland. She moved to Connersville with her family and graduated from Connersville High School in 1936.
She married Ezra Robert Brown in 1937 and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She had worked at Fayette Memorial Hospital and Sears and served two terms as Fayette County Recorder.
Survivors include a daughter, Sarah Jane Smith of Carmel; a son, James D. Brown of Greenville, S.C.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three nephews and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband on July 8, 1980; a daughter, Patricia Lloyd; and two brothers, Kenneth and Robert Rowland.
Service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home. The Rev. Dan McCollough will officiate. Burial will be at Dale Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
