Heraklonas was born in 626 in the palace of Sophinae to his father Emperor Heraclius and his mother Martina. He was born into a time when the empire was beginning to show serious problems, invasions by the Arabs and internal strife. when Heraklonas was just 15 his father died of edema, leaving the throne to his eldest son, Constantine III. Heraklonas was appointed as co-emperor alongside his brother. Now the throne was in even worse hands as Constantine III himself was only around 26. Only a couple months after taking the throne Heraklonas's mother, Martina had Constantine III poisoned. Now a 15 year old boy was let to rule over the empire. very shortly after Arab invaders captured Heraklonas and his mother, having their tongues and noses cut off. Heraklonas was tortured to death at 15 years old
