Rosetta Boatman “ChiChi”, died Sunday, November 1, 2020 in El Paso, TX. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 21, 2020 at First Christian Church, Dalhart, TX.

Rosetta Marie Boatman “ChiChi” was born in Boise City, OK, September 3, 1940 to Charley and Hazel May. She met and married Shannon Larry Boatman on October 25, 1956. They made their home in Ardmore, Oklahoma while Shannon was serving his country until 1961. They moved to Missouri to work in the oil fields until they returned to Dalhart, TX in 1963. During this time, she raised a son, Kenneth and two daughters, Debra and Linda. She finished her GED in 1974.

In Dalhart, Rosetta worked for the cable office and later Sear’s until they closed their offices. She managed the Texas and Holiday Motels while Shannon was getting established with his job at the railroad. She loved taking care of her family. She was a great cook and housewife. She enjoyed gardening and playing parcheesi. She enjoyed traveling with Shannon on their many motorcycle trips and adventures across country to visit family and friends. Shannon and Rosetta were married 56 years.

She is survived by Son: Kenneth and wife Karen Boatman of Amarillo, TX, Daughters: Debbie and husband Patrick Little of Dalhart, TX, Linda and husband Alvon Williams of El Paso, TX. 7 grandchildren – Sherrie Ramold of Dalhart, TX, Brad and wife Cory Boatman of Alamogordo, NM, Reese Ramold of Columbia, MO, Matt and wife Veronica Boatman of Amarillo, TX, Chance and wife Mandi Britten of Fayetteville, NC, A.J. and wife Erika Williams of El Paso, TX, Kayla and husband Cory Betterson of Tucker, GA. 7 great grandchildren—Jai Boatman, Kailen Boatman, Jaeden Boatman, Luke Ramold, Tirzah Williams, Jensen Britten, and Magnolia “Maggie” Britten.

She is preceded in death by: her husband: Shannon Larry Boatman, her parents: Charley W. and Hazel Marie Fry May, three sisters: Dorothy Jiles, Nadine Drennan, and Clydella Jiles, and one brother: Floyd May.
