Annabelle Burkey, 77, of Glenmoore, died Sunday, July 24, 2005, at her home.



She was the wife of James T. Burkey Sr., with whom she shared 57 years of marraige.

Born in Chester County, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Edith Wagner Horner.

Mrs. Burkey was employed as a House Mother at Devereux for 20 years prior to her retirement.

She was a member of the Glenmoore United Methodist Church and enjoyed making easter eggs with the women of the church.

She also traveled on vacations as a member of Twin Valley Senior Citizens. She took pride in her sewing projects, sharing time with her family in their sewing club.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Burkey is survived by two sons, James T. Burkey Jr., of Eagle, and Gary Lee Burkey, of Honey Brook; one daughter, Carol A. Dempsey, of Honey Brook; two brothers, Ralph Plank, of Downingtown, and Charles Plank, of North Carolina; two sisters, Miriam McFalls, of Downingtown, and Ruth Stringer, of Honey Brook; one stepbrother, Norman Horner, of Downingtown; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 1, 2005, at the Glenmoore United Methodist Church Church, 1920 Creek Road, Glenmoore. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday. Contributions in memory of Annabelle may be sent to the Glenmoore United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 37, Glenmoore, PA 19343-0037. Arrangements by Labs Funeral Home Inc., Honey Brook.
