Robert G. Haynes, 84, a retired Methodist minister, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, in Fort Worth.
Graveside service: 11 a.m. Friday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville. A memorial service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Burleson.
Memorials: The family requests memorials be made to First United Methodist Church of Burleson.
The Rev. Haynes was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. The Rev. Haynes served numerous churches in the North Central and Central Texas conferences of the United Methodist Church from 1946-1988. He referred to himself as "Mr. Preacher." He loved woodcarving, traveling, golf and antique cars. Through the years, he sponsored several exchange students.
The Rev. Haynes was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita Haynes, in 1999 and daughter, Carolyn Nelson in 1995.
He will be missed.
Survivors: Wife, Marjorie Haynes of Burleson; son, Robert Haynes and wife, Susan; daughter, Rossie Bell and husband, Calvin; sister, Jean Josch and husband, Martin; adopted son, Christian Schnabel and wife, Marie; grandchildren, Marty Payton, Robert Payton and wife, Shelley, Ramon Carrillo and wife, Sherri, Amada Carrillo, Dina Haynes and Rhett Haynes and wife, Val; five grandchildren; numerous stepgrandchildren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
