Youngest daughter of John Baptist Carbery (d.1778) and Mary Thompson (d.1793), of St. Mary's County, Maryland. Research indicates she married Clement Sewall in 1778, when he returned to his father's farm to heal from the wounds he suffered at Germantown. Accordingly, her birth is placed as circa 1760 to 1762.

She was laid to rest in the churchyard, per Holy Trinity Church's burial records.
