OROVILLE - Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, September, at Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette for Alfred Eugene Dozier, 78, Oroville.
He died Wednesday, September 13, 2000 in an Oroville Hospital.
Alfred was born August 19, 1922, in Forrest City, Missouri to Lester and Hazel Webster Dozier.
He moved to the Oroville area 22 years ago from Souther California, where he was employed with the Centinella Union High School District as a painter.
Alfred served in the Army from 1942 to 1945 and earned the Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Unit Citation. After his discharge he was awarded the Holland National Badge. He also earned several badges.
Alfred was a member of the American Legion, and disabled American Vets, as he was disabled during his service in the European Theater.
Alfred enjoyed working in his garden, casino gambling, and family outings.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Dozier of Rocklin; a daughter, Eileen Morelli of Santa Rosa; three brothers, Donald Dozier of Oroville and Arthur Dozier of Concord; four sisters, Quetta Norris of Concord, Pat Buxton of Virginia, Wilma Darlene Jones of Missouri, and Dixie Jo Kerns of Missouri; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday, September 17, at Cheer Memorial Chapel, which is handling arrangements.

WATSON YOUNG LADY MARRIES IN COLORADO
Miss Irene Moore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Moore of Watson and Sgt. Eugene Dozier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Dozier, also of Watson, were married at a Baptist Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on May 13th at 6:15 p.m. by Rev. John Seen.
The bride wore a navy silk chiffon dress with navy and white accessories. She is a graduate of Watson High School wit the class of 1943.
The groom was attired in uniform. He was inducted into the army in November 1942, and is stationed at Camp Carson, Colorado.
The bridal pair were attended at their wedding by bride's mother and Miss Quetta Dozier, sister of the groom.
Mrs. Dozier will live in Colorado Springs, near which city her husband's camp is located.
These young folks have spent most of their lives near Watson, where they have many friends, who extend congratulations and wish them success and happiness in their married life.
