Bessie E. Brooks, 93, of Hillsboro, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 30, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Mr. Phil Collard officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.

Bessie was born in Hill County, Texas, to the late John Dudley and Josephine (Patterson) Williams. In 1932 she married Homer Brooks and they lived in Vaughan. She was a housewife and member of College Hill Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, on January 14, 1957; a daughter, Jeanelle Brooks; three brothers; and three sisters.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth M. Brooks, of Hillsboro; daughters, Jeannette Davidson and husband, Kenneth, of Hewitt, and Linda Reid and husband, Kenneth, of Peoria; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
