Karr, a student at the university, was born in Spur in 1942. He resided here for six years and usually returned to work and visit relatives here. He would have graduated this coming spring. He was cut down by the snipers bullets on Monday, August 8, along with 13 other persons on the University of Texas campus.
Karr was in the Army from the fall of 1962 to 1965. He served overseas in Formosa for two years. He was also a member of the Methodist Church and attended Texas Tech and Texas A&M University.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. in the First Methodist Church, Rev. William D. McReynolds, a former pastor here, officiating.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Ray Karr, Ft. Worth; one brother, Don Karr, a student at Texas Tech; one sister, Mrs. Joe Moore, Ft. Worth; grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. T.H. Blackwell, Spur and Mrs. J.L. Karr, Spur.
Pallbearers were Galal Walker, Bob Womsley, John Castleman, Frank Davis, Scotty Daugherty and Everett Martin, Jr.
Interment was in the Spur Cemetery.
