3601. George Washington Rudd, b. 30 Dec., 1799, at Franklin. He m. 23 Feb., 1825, Palmyra Swan, b. 3 June, 1805, at Stephentown, N. Y., third daughter of Adin Swan and Hannah Gardner. He was a physician, and in 1827 they settled at New London, N.Y., where he pursued his profession, and was sometimes engaged in merchandise. He was also postmaster and justice of the peace at New London. In 1850 they removed to Rockford, Ill., and in 1859 to Salem, Ill. where they were living in 1860. They had nine children, all except the first born at New London, all unm. In 1860:
1. Margaret Elizabeth, b. 21 Sept., 1826, d. 30 May 1837.
2. Mortimer Hyde, b. 15 July, 1828, d. April, 1829.
3. George Milton, b. 11 Oct., 1830, an ambrotype painter.
4. Clarissa Elizabeth, b. 18 May, 1833
5. Anson Miller, b. 27 March, 1837, d. 29 June, 1837.
6. Albert Alonzo, b. 9 June, 1838.
7. Cornelia Alvera, b. 18 Sept., 1840.
8. Mary A, b. 21 Sept., 1843, d. 29 April, 1845.
9. William Henry Channing, b. 2 May, 1846.

Funeral services for W. H. C. Rudd, 65 years old, a jeweler, 418 Westport Avenue, who died Thursday night at the South Side Hospital, will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Lindsey undertaking rooms. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
