Jack Beam “Bones” Huss, age 90, of Turner Lee Lane, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2020 at his residence.

He was born December 23, 1929 in Gaston County to the late Burge and Annie Beam Huss. Jack was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and retired from Duke Power. He was a United States Army Veteran. Jack enjoyed yard work, fishing, and guitar picking. He was an avid Bluegrass fan. He also enjoyed watching Gunsmoke and Bonanza. He was a family man who adored his grandchildren more than anything.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Coley and Bud Huss; sister, Lois Hayes; and son-in-law, Curtis Beam.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Pansy Annette Hallman Huss; son, Gary Dean Huss (Beth) of Rockwell; daughter, Jackie Huss Beam (Steve “Spunk” Arthurs) of Cherryville; sister, Betty McSwain of Newton; grandchildren, Turner Beam (Emily) of Cherryville, Whitney Adams (Jonathan) of Rockwell, Paige O’Guin (Joel) of China Grove; bonus grandchildren, Dr. Daniel White (Christina) of Roanoke, Va. and Logan Bumgarner (Carolyn) of Cherryville; great-grandchildren, Mac, Eden, Avery, Hudson, Rowen, Nora, Mabel, Addy, Charlie, and Carson.

A graveside service was held Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 3 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery with Pastor Ben Kifer officiating.
