Obituary of Betty Ann Birchfield
Betty Ann Birchfield, age 90 passed peacefully on October 20,
2020 surrounded by her daughter and grandchildren.
She was born on September 25, 1930 to Leslie and Constance
Goodchild in Flint, Michigan.
Her family moved to California
when she was a year old. Betty was a devoted wife, mom,
grandma, sister, aunt and friend. She married the love of her
life Jim in 1949.
They raised James, Leslie, John and Susan.
Betty loved spending time in the kitchen baking her delicious
apple pies. She enjoyed working in her gorgeous rose garden.
Betty was very independent and resourceful. Summers were
spent in Yosemite and Lake Tahoe making unforgettable
memories. She also loved sitting under an umbrella at the beach
with the grandkids.
Betty worked for Bank of America for many years. After
retiring from the bank she had her favorite job as Grandma.
Story-telling, arts and crafts, and baking cookies were daily
duties.
Betty is survived by her daughter Susan (Dean) and
grandchildren Melissa (Erick), Deborah (Cory), Andrew,
Christine, Austin, Matthew, Amanda and Sarah. Preceded in
death by her husband Jim and sons James, Leslie and John.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 28,
2020 11:00 am at Oakwood Memorial Park in Chatsworth.
