He was married to Carrie "Beatrice" Jordan (1911–1997), and she was the daughter of Addie (Ferguson) (Jordan) Glenn (1881–1977) and her 1st husband James Henry Jordan (1878–1913).
A retired maintenance supervisor at Faro Corporation and living at 1123 McAlpine Avenue in Nashville, Tennessee, Lanas was 55 years old and married when he died of metastatic lung cancer at Mid-State Baptist Hospital on May 29, 1961. Burial was the next day in Spring Hill Cemetery, Nashville.
