Completed her earthly mission following complications of surgery. Born in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Daughter of Jesse C. and Carrie Gentry Pike. Married John A. Young October 16, 1954 in Elko, Nevada. Disable early in married live. Overcame many hardships. Raise two children, Cindy and Jeff. Involved in many community activities and women's organization. Past State President of the Utah Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW (Post 4355). Member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary (Post 112), Democratic Party and First Unitarian Church of Salt Lake City since 1954. Election judge.

Survived by husband John, daughter Cindy King (Clark), son Jeff Young (Stacy), brother Al Pike (Joyce, sisters Joyce Pike, Lois Lawrence, and Leta Sutton, and grandchildren Chelsea, Jason, and Christopher.

Service held Wednesday, October 3, 2007 in Bluffdale.
