Henry “Hank” Cook Boynton III, 72, of La Porte, passed away peacefully Monday, November 9, 2020 at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, IL.

He was born June 18, 1948, in Oak Park, IL, to Henry Boynton II and Marjorie (Bennett) Boynton.

Hank’s formative years were spent growing up in Lagrange Park, IL where he attended Forest Road grade school. He then finished his primary education graduating from Lyons Township High School in 1966.

After graduating he enlisted, and served in the USAF from 1967 to 1973. He was stationed at Incirlik AFB in Ankara, Turkey and after 2 years active duty, he transferred to reserve duty as a fireman at Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson, Arizona.

After completing his military career, he attended College of DuPage and Western Illinois University, Macomb, IL, studying communications.

He was baptized in 1976 as a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses and attended meetings in Brookfield, IL and then in LaPorte, IN until present day.

Hank spent many years employed as an auto salesman, ending his career as a National Trainer and Regional Salesman for Lease Link.

On August 18, 1981, in Naperville, IL, at the Willoway Manor, he married Beverly (Enzweiler) Boynton, who survives.

Also surviving are his son, Joshua Boynton of La Porte; one step daughter, Jennifer (Toby) Byvoets of Valparaiso; one brother, Bruce Boynton of Hillside, IL; one brother-in-law, John Triantafillo of Punta Gorda, FL; four grandchildren, Caden, Bryce, Grace and Rebecca; niece and nephew, Jenny and Jimmy Triantafillo; and his cousins in New Jersey, The Bailey Family and The Boynton Family.

Preceding in death were his parents; and one sister, Barbara Triantafillo.

Cremation will take place. Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, (219) 362-3100 is caring for the arrangements.
