Alice was born on December 18, 1934 in New Haven, a daughter of the late Joseph and Alice Daly. Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Maureen Danick (Peter), Kathleen Brancato (Michael), Michael Donovan, Carolyn D'Amato (Michael), Liz Hynes (Chris), Kevin Donovan (Tricia), Meghan Powell (Justin), her 17 grandchildren, CJ, Andrew, Colin, Alyssa, John, Aidan, Conall, Margaret, Michaela, Robert, Daly, Brennan, Tess, Jake, Connor, Payton and Max. She was predeceased by a son John Joseph Donovan, and her brothers, Gerald and William Daly. Alice was a registered nurse for 25 years. She started her career at Yale-New Haven Hospital and ended it as a private duty nurse. She always found time for volunteering for various organizations in town and started a second career at the Blackstone Memorial Children's Library sharing her love of books, children and crafts. Her favorite hobbies included gardening, sewing, knitting and spending time with her family. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Mary Church in Branford for over 50 years. Her family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to all of her caregivers through the years, especially Dr. Harold Levy and the entire staff at Connecticut Hospice. Her funeral will leave the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, Tuesday morning at 9:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church at 10:00. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery.
