Mr. Asher died Monday at Humana Hospital in Overland Park. He was born April 26, 1903, in Winnigan, Mo. He moved from Brookfield to the DeSoto area in 1952.
He was an outside electrician for Sunflower Army Ammunitions Plant in DeSoto until he retired in 1968. He was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 304.
He married Dorene Wine on Nov. 30, 1941, in Brookfield. She died March 27, 1977.
Survivors include a son, Gary, rural Eudora; three daughters, Beverly Stark, DeSoto, Carol Plumb, Spickard, Mo., and Donna Asher, Wichita; a brother, Wayne Asher, Marceline, Mo.; a sister, Velma Baker, Kansas City, Mo.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
