A memorial service will be held at Bellaire Baptist Church, Bossier City, LA at 11:00AM Tuesday, October 2, 2007 with Dr. Randy Harper and Rev. Ray Raney, special nephew officiating the service.
Charles was a member of the Jappa Masonic Lodge the Scottish Rites bodies, and El Karubah Shrine "Eagles" motor cycle group. Owned and operated several businesses in Bossier City, Barksdale Hardware and Locker Room Sports Bar.
His father, Cecil Glenn Raney, Sr., mother, Bessie Grubb Raney, brothers, Cecil, Shelton and Billy Raney predeceased him. He is survived by, wife of 50 years Betty Jo Price Raney, children, Rick Raney and wife Patty Lancaster Raney, of Bossier City, Cissy Raney Bullock and husband Jim Bullock, of Shreveport, Laurie Raney Elms and husband, Justin Elms, of Highland Village, TX, and Custus "Skeeter" Raney of Bossier City, grandchildren, Tanner Raney, Landon Raney, Bradden Bullock, Jaimee Bullock, Kristen Elms, Mallory Elms, and Clare Raney, great grand children, Kinsey Kaye Raney, Riley Kaye Raney and Clark Raney. And beloved Chihuahua's, Bitsy and Itsty, who lay by his side until his death. He is also survived by sisters, Francis Jeter of Houston Texas, Helen Hailey and husband Lewis Hailey, Brother Jimmy Raney and his wife, Marie. Sister's in laws, Marie Raney, Faye Raney and Georgia Raney and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Robert Hernandez and nurses Lisa Raney and Laura Perkins, Special caregivers, Phil and Donna Singleton and Hospice Care and special friend Jeannette Clifton, special niece and nephew Jimmie Jean and Kenneth Taylor. And his sister, "His Love"- Francis Jeter.
