Danville – Lanny D. Lyons, 69, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at the Knox Community Hospital.

He was born in Mt. Vernon on September 12, 1951 to Edwin and Evelyn Mae (Byers) Lyons. He was retired from the Knox County Highway Department and attended the Victory Church of Christ.

Lanny is survived by his wife, Patsy (Shrimplin) Lyons, his daughters, Lanna (Brian) Staats, and Tonya (Kirk) Durbin, his grandchildren, Bryant, Bryce, and Brianna Staats, and Ridge and Skyler Durbin, his great grandson, Bo Staats, sisters-in-law, Mariam and Pat Lyons, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his four brothers, Lee, Lyle, Larry, and Lynn Lyons.

A graveside memorial service will take place at 2:00 Saturday, November 21, in Workman Cemetery. Matt McManaway will be officiating.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Eastern Knox County Joint Fire District, PO Box 526 Danville, 43014, or to the Danville Athletic Boosters, in care of Lanna Staats, 28388 Jelloway Rd. Danville, 43014. The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling arrangements.
