Pauline B. Enevoldsen, 88, of Brookings, SD passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020 at the United Living Community, Brookings, SD. Private Graveside Services will be held. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Rude’s Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. In Lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be directed to the Harvest Table in Brookings or the Brookings Food Pantry.



Pauline B. Doop was born on December 8, 1931, near Bruce, SD, the daughter of Calvin Omar and Gertrude J. (Gerdes) Doop.



Pauline grew up along with ten siblings on the farm which is now Oakwood Lakes State Park going to country grade school in Preston District #111 all eight years. She went to Brookings High School her freshman year, and graduating from the Bruce High School in 1950. After her graduation she worked at National Tea Grocery Store and Brookings International Life Insurance Company. She was united in marriage to Dorance Enevoldsen on October 19, 1952, at the Frist Church of God in Brookings, SD, while Dorance was on furlough from the Air Force. They lived in Tacoma, WA for 18 months. Pauline worked at the Internal Revenue there. Dorance was reassigned to Tokyo, Japan for 18 months, so Pauline and daughter Debra moved back to Brookings to live. When he returned, they moved to Chandler, AZ until Dorance’s discharge in March of 1956. Since that time, they have made Brookings (Someplace Special) their home. They celebrated 60 wonderful years of marriage in October of 2012. Dorance died on January 23, 2013.



Pauline devoted her life to their marriage and being a stay at home mom, raising their four children that God had blessed them with. Besides doing a lot of sewing in the past, she now collects dolls, old coins, has made family history books on both parent’s side for their children. Her photo books are her pride and joy. She always has a camera in her purse.



Pauline became a born-again Christian in March of 1967, and was baptized soon after. She was a member of First Church of God at the time, recently Morningside Community Church and now Abundant Life. She served on various boards, taught Bible School, and was a past member of WCG (Women of the Church of God). Pauline and Dorance also assisted the Youth Leaders which they enjoyed.



Pauline is survived by her children, two daughters, Debra Enevoldsen of Portland, ME and DeeAnn (Lyle) Steenson of Brookings, SD; two sons, Kevin Enevoldsen of Volga, SD and Keith Enevoldsen of Bentonville, AR; her grandchildren, Matt (Anni) Steenson, Ryan (Sarah) Steenson, Micaela Enevoldsen, Abby Enevoldsen and Max Enevoldsen; three great grandchildren, Noah, Walker and Lucy Steenson; brother, Richard (Joyce) Doop of Lake Poinsett, SD and two sisters-in-law, Caroline Doop of Flandreau, SD and Marilyn Doop of Bruce, SD and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Deverne and Ruby Enevoldsen of Hanover, IN.



Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Virginia, Delores and Dorothy, brothers, Dale, Roger, Harley, Gordon, Gilmer and Wayne.
