Obituary for Minnie Viola Culbertson
Minnie Viola Culbertson, age 68 of Fredonia, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2020, peacefully in her sleep at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, listening to Christian music and the Lord’s Prayer being read to her by the Charge Nurse.

Minnie was born to Orval and Otheal (Bennett)Culbertson Friday, September 12, 1952 on a farm northeast of Fredonia. She grew up alongside 9 siblings, and they lived on the farm until the house burned in 1970. She attended Fredonia High School and graduated in the class of 1970.

After high school, Minnie moved to Humboldt, KS and worked for Airosol for awhile before moving to Springfield, MO to work as a maid, cleaning rooms. She then moved to Waxahachie, TX to attend Bible College to become a Pastor, graduating in 1979. She ended up moving back to her hometown of Fredonia, and went to work for the school district, starting at the Elementary School, and then moving to the High School where she retired from.

Minnie liked bicycles, and she would be seen not long ago, still riding the same bicycle around town that she bought while attending college. She also liked working outside in the yard digging in the dirt, visiting with people and really loved and enjoyed her family. She had a passion for sign language and taught some classes at the Grace First Assembly Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Phyllis, Sharon, and Taffy, brothers Joe, Steven and Theron, nephews Shane and Audie.

Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Fredonia City Cemetery.
