Martha Schepke was born May 7, 1923, in Alpena to the late Henry and Ida (Kirschner) Schepke.
She was known by many as Marti. Martha married Charles E. Conrad and he preceded her in death.
Martha worked for JC Penney for 40 years and wore many hats as office worker and mostly in buying and filling store stock. Marti loved to sew. She made many of hers and Charles’ clothes. Martha was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Alpena. She was a member of “The Triangle” in Fairway Village, Fla., and Retired Masons Wives. Marti enjoyed square and round dancing.
Surviving are her nieces, Pat (Eli) Wildfong, Linda (Bob) Sorenson, Ida Jean Falk, Linda Goodman; cousins; special friends, Sue Thomson, Bonnie and Floyd King, Judy and Tom Stockman, Leslie Kirchoff, Jane Guyott.
Mrs. Conrad was preceded in death by her brother, Art Schepke.
Memorial visitation will take place at Bannan Funeral Home on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the memorial service at 3 p.m. with Rev. Arnie Kirschner officiating.
Inurnment: King Settlement Cemetery
