L. Dean Conrad was born October 29, 1962 in Checotah, OK to Harold G and Frances Pearl (Strange) Conrad and left this earth to begin living with God for eternity on November 19, 2020 in Tulsa, OK. Dean busted through the pearly gates of heaven with his arms held high and praises on his lips. Without a doubt he went running and leaping straight into the arms of Jesus.
Dean attended Wainwright and Oktaha Public Schools and made Oktaha his home most of his life. He worked as a pipeline welder for years. Most currently he was a certified welding inspector for Cleveland Integrity Services.

Dean was a son, brother, husband, father, pop, uncle, friend…and most importantly son of God. Dean is known for his deep faith in his Maker which resonated in the way he lived his life. Dean is also remembered for his loyal devotion to his family and friends. Dean loved so big and gave the best bear hugs.

On August 27, 2005 Dean married his soul mate, Kristen. With this union he gained two sons, Dalton and Dillon. Dean loved Kristen with a love about which most only dream. She was his “sweet baby”. As long as she was spoiled and taken care of he was happy. She was the love of his life and he made sure everyone knew it. He referred to Dalton and Dillon and himself as the three amigos and said together they could take on the world. He always said they were not only his sons but also his best friends. They were told everyday how proud he was of them and that they were loved. He and his granddaughter Harper “Pop’s girl” had a special bond. She could talk him into anything. Harper thought her Pop was a real life super hero. Many hours were spent jumping on the trampoline and just being together out in the shop while he worked. She told everyone that Pop was her favorite person. Dean had a very close relationship with Dillon’s girlfriend Nikki. He always said she just fit in the family perfectly and that he thought she was “the one” He loved her big.

Dean had a “son” Derek that he took in and loved like his own. They had a special relationship.
He was known by many of the boys friends as “Dad” Caleb Shoemake, Jake Hilbern, Caleb Sexton and many others that he loved throughout the years. They were all “his boys.”

Dean enjoyed his family. Whether it be hanging out in the shop working together or watching Dalton and Dillon race, he was their biggest fan and it didn’t matter if they were first or very last he’d be at the trailer waiting for them with the biggest smile and a “great job son, I’m proud of you”. He and Kristen had Friday night Beacon dates. He liked eating in the car with her because it was quiet and they could talk about their week. The brownie bites and ice cream were an added bonus. More than anything Dean loved being in church worshiping God.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife Kristen; son Dalton Conrad, son Dillon Conrad and Nikki, son Derek and Morgan Flock, son Travis Conrad and Vonnie; daughter Jerrilynn and Steven Osterhout; grandchildren Harper and Maxton Conrad, Aviana Conrad, Ava, Nathan and Gabriel Osterhout; father Harold G Conrad; sister Deanna Richison and family, and sister Dianna and Scot Bunch and family. He also leaves a very special father in-law Joe Buckmaster.

Dean is preceded in death by his mother Frances Conrad whom we know was waiting at heaven’s gates to welcome her son, as well as his daughter Terri Jo Conrad.

Funeral services celebrating Dean’s life will be 9:30AM, Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Jubilee Christian Center with Pastor Jordan Howard officiating.

Interment will follow at Middleton Chapel Cemetery with Jake Hilbern, Caleb Sexton, Edmund Bishop, Tim Conrad, Dwayne Conrad, Tradis Sheperd, John Anderson, and Caleb Shoemake serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Buckmaster, Jaybo Claypool, Jeff McDaniel, and Bruce Mooney.
