Mrs. Genevieve Leighton of 9 North Broadway, died at her home on Saturday night last at 7:30 o'clock of pneumonia. Mrs. Leighton had been ill for about six weeks. She was 21 years old. Mrs. Leighton was born in Yonkers in 1903, the daughter of Ida Durand and William Kane. She received her grammar school education at School 10 and St. Mary's Parochial School. She also attended the Yonkers High School. Before her marriage to Ernest A. Leighton at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church over a year ago, she was employed at the Otis Elevator Works and just before her employment there, held a position at the New York Telephone Company in Yonkers.

Mrs. Leighton is survived by her mother and father and three sisters, Ida, Fermina [Fairmien] and Gloria and a brother, Albert Raymond Kane, all of Yonkers. The funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Church, South Broadway, on Wednesday afternoon, at 2:30 o'clock. Because of the feast of St. John, which is on Thursday, no burials are made at the church, but a high mass of requiem will be celebrated at 9 o'clock. Interment will be made at St. Mary's Cemetery.
