Barbara Joan Endecott, 85, a resident of the Forest Grove community passed away on July 29, 2020 at the Providence St Vincent Medical Center in Portland.

Barbara was born on May 19, 1935 in Culver City, CA. She was one of three children born to Kenneth and Joan (Beebe) Pentico. At the age of three her family moved to Sellwood, Oregon, where she attended Sellwood grade school until 1949 when her family moved to Forest Grove, Oregon. She then attended Forest Grove High School graduating with the Class of 1953.

She met her future husband, Elvin "Keith" Endecott, while on a blind date with her friend, Marilyn Heard. Following a brief courtship, they married on February 5, 1956 in Forest Grove. They started their family in Manning, Oregon and had two daughters; Pam and Sandy. In 1957 they moved to Hillsboro where they lived until Keith's passing in January of 2000. Barbara continued to live in her home until 2020 when she moved to Forest grove to be closer to her daughters.

Barbara was a loving and devoted mother and wife, she also worked outside the home as a typist and in the composing rooms for the Newstimes, Hillsboro Argus and finally the Oregonian; a career spanning 37 years. Barbara's family was her life; she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She collected bells, played accordion (in her youth), and was a league pinochle player. Barbara enjoyed traveling abroad, through Europe, Mexico and Hawaii. She was an avid reader, romance; history and fiction books lined her shelves. Barbara was a master gardener spending countless hours tending her flower garden. She was an active member of the UMW (United Methodist Women's Club) and enjoyed volunteering at her church. She also was an avid Blazers fan.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband; Keith, her parents, and two sons-in-law; Tommy Shaw and Samuel Ruiz.

She is survived by her two daughters; Pam Ruiz of Forest Grove, Sandy and her husband Rod Grow both of Forest Grove, a brother Rod Pentico of Canby, sister Cheryl Fihn of Medford, and five grandchildren; Greg, Mark, Scott, Amanda and Daniel and seventeen great grandchildren.
