Delores Marie Jones Huxman, age 91, passed away on November 21, 220 at Grisell Memorial Hospital. Delores was born on July 31, 1929 near Hackberry, KS to A. Dale and Edna Jones.
She attended school in Utica and Pueblo, Colorado. While attending in Pueblo she worked at Sears and Roebuck Company. After graduation, Delores returned to Utica to work in her cousin’s store. Upon returning to Kansas, Delores met the love of her life, Ronald Gene Huxman. There were united in marriage on January 18, 1948. They lived on the family farm North of Arnold. Together, they raised four children and were active in their sports, 4-H and other activities.
Delores was an avid gardener, cook and seamstress. She drove a school bus for USD 302, Ransom, for many years. She was an active member of the Arnold United Methodist Church and UMW.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ron, and granddaughter, Melissa.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Bobbie Jones of Colorado; children, Craig (Kay) Huxman of Oklahoma City; Karri Smith of Ransom; Brent (Brenda) Huxman of Topeka, and Kami (Ron) Smith of Palmer.
She will be dearly missed by all of her grandchildren, great grandkids, and many friends and relatives.
Funeral service will be at the United Methodist Church, Arnold, on Saturday, November 28, 2020, 11:00 a.m. with burial in the Arnold Cemetery. Viewing will be held at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Friday, November 27, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
